“Beyond a Dream is a painting about how things can turn out so much bigger and better than we imagine. Immediately after graduating from college my husband and I got married and bought our first home. The house itself was beyond my dreams of what our first home would be like- it was brand new, in the cutest and coziest neighborhood and was across the street from a lake. This first house itself was beyond a dream come true. We spent 6 amazing years there, had a boat and spent most of our summer days on the lake with family and friends. When we moved in I thought we would live there forever. A few years there, our family was growing and we were outgrowing our sweet little lake house. We talked about adding on, but instead decided to leave the area, build a house and move closer to family. It was a hard decision for me. I loved living there. To my incredible surprise and after an arduous move with small children, the next forever home was so much better than I could’ve imagined. I learned so much in that move, that sometimes our dreams are limited and when we let go that’s when the magic happens. Sometimes our dreams are small and what unfolds after letting go can be something monumental and beyond what we originally pictured.” -Sara
This original painting is part of a 63-painting collection created for Sara’s current solo exhibition In Our Wildest Dreams at Western Michigan University.
The painting is signed, ready to hang with a wire on the back, and includes a certificate of authenticity signed by Sara.
