“Her Joy was such a fun painting to paint! I’ve had the coolest photo of my daughter swinging from our backyard playset for 9 years and the day I captured her joyous and playful personality I knew I wanted to paint it! The photo also reminded me of a 1700 Rococo-style painting of a lady on a swing that has stuck in my mind from college taking an art history course. This particular daughter has such a fizzy and effervescent personality and is so fun to be around, I am inspired by her lightheartedness every day and it felt SO good to finally create this painting 9 years later.” -Sara
This original painting is part of a 63-painting collection created for Sara’s current solo exhibition In Our Wildest Dreams at Western Michigan University.
The painting is signed, ready to hang with a wire on the back, and includes a certificate of authenticity signed by Sara.
