“More Beauty was inspired by a mini painting I created a couple years ago. The story behind these two peacock paintings: two summers ago, I had just finished reading a book about beauty and thought, “hmmmm it would be really nice to see some beauty right now.” I am 100% not joking here- I looked out the window and saw two majestic peacocks strutting around in my yard! After sending a text to my nearby family about this scene I found out it was all over Facebook- someone’s peacocks had escaped! I was lucky to have spent an hour with this pair, taking many photos, trying to feed them peanuts per the owner’s request to keep them at bay and meanwhile, I was taking in all of their beauty. Photos couldn’t capture the amount of beauty in this moment. I am clinging to this memory and asking for more moments like this- full of not only beauty but of big surprises and delight. The original mini painting lives with my friend and Collector in Brooklyn and I loved this little painting and its message so much I wanted to create a larger version.” -Sara
This original painting is part of a 63-painting collection created for Sara’s current solo exhibition In Our Wildest Dreams at Western Michigan University.
The painting is signed, ready to hang with a wire on the back, and includes a certificate of authenticity signed by Sara.
