Road Full of Promise
Original Painting
36” x 48” x 1.5”, acrylic and gilding wax on canvas
“Road Full of Promise is a painting that initially appears to be a fictional depiction of the interior of my Grandma’s house. She never had birds but I can imagine her having an antique bird cage in her living room full of pet birds. I also remember visiting the local dime store with her and my Mom and looking at the large cages of golden finches. There are more “layers” to this painting than what appears initially on the surface. I like to use this painting as a metaphor for real life- the “cages” we place ourselves in, the limitations and those moments when we realize that we are limitless.” -Sara
