“Wild Dream is a painting that is about a wild dream I had last summer. I woke up in a panic, because I was in the woods surrounded by these radioactive snails. They were purple and glowing. They were dangerous but so incredibly cool and beautiful. In the dream, I realized that they actually were harmless. I was excited to make a painting that reflected this super weird dream for the show. When it came to the moment to paint in the many glowing purple snails I chickened out. Not sure why, but I couldn’t do it. There are a couple hidden snails in the painting but not what I originally saw in the dream. After the show, somehow these snails are going to re-emerge in my work.” -Sara
This original painting is part of a 63-painting collection created for Sara’s current solo exhibition In Our Wildest Dreams at Western Michigan University.
The painting is signed, ready to hang with a wire on the back, and includes a certificate of authenticity signed by Sara.
